Trust wet technology. A compact solution dedicated to modern workshops for safe work with multi-material bodies in ATEX 22 zones.
1. How does wet extraction differ from a regular vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter?
A regular vacuum collects dry, flammable dust in a bag or tank, where just one spark or electrostatic discharge can cause an explosion. The wet system (like CAMELEON) instantly melts and binds the extracted dust in liquid, completely neutralizing its explosive properties.
2. What does "MIX" mean in the device's name?
It means that the device is certified and safe to work with various materials, including mixed ones (steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, plastics). This is crucial for repairs on modern vehicles (the so-called multi-material mix).
3. Is aluminum dust really that dangerous?
Yes. Fine aluminum dust suspended in the air creates an explosive mixture. Additionally, in contact with a spark from steel, it can trigger a thermite reaction (temperatures exceeding 2000°C). Therefore, its extraction is strictly regulated by health and safety and fire regulations.
4. What does the ATEX Zone 22 certificate mean?
ATEX is an EU directive concerning equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres. Zone 22 indicates an area where an explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of flammable dust in the air does not occur during normal operation, and if it does occur, it lasts for a short time. Equipment with this certification will not generate a spark capable of igniting such a cloud.
5. What is the device housing made of?
The entire housing is made of special, anti-static stainless steel. This guarantees no corrosion with continuous contact with water and prevents the formation of electrostatic discharges on the vacuum's surface.
6. Are the suction hoses also secured?
Yes, the CAMELEON 1100 MIX system uses only dedicated anti-static hoses. Particles passing through a regular hose can generate powerful electrostatic charges – our system safely discharges them to the ground.
7. For which workshops is the 1100 model dedicated?
This model is optimized for medium amounts of dust. It works excellently at Smart Repair stations, in authorized and independent body shops, and where the work station often changes location (thanks to the mobility of the cart).
8. How is maintenance of such a wet extraction system?
Maintenance is simple and safe. The collected dust settles at the bottom of the tank as neutral sludge. Instead of replacing dusty bags, the operator simply empties the tank of water and sludge according to local regulations for workshop waste disposal, then refills it with clean water.
9. Can two people use the device at the same time?
The CAMELEON 1100 model is a compact mobile unit, typically dedicated to servicing one work station at a time, ensuring maximum suction efficiency. For multiple stations, we offer larger, central extraction systems.
10. Does the device require special power supply?
The device is ready to operate under standard workshop conditions. Detailed requirements for the connection (voltage, compressed air flow) are tailored individually during the configuration of the station in your service.
11. Why can't I use a traditional dry extractor for aluminum and steel?
Because modern car bodies are multi-material, and during work, it is not possible to effectively separate aluminum dust from steel sparks. In a dry environment, this mixture poses a risk of explosion or fire. The Inert EX wet technology completely eliminates this risk by neutralizing both sparks and charged dust.
12. Will the device manage if the car is not completely dry after washing?
Yes! This is another huge advantage of wet extraction over dry vacuums (where water damages paper filters and creates sludge). The wet neutralization technology in the CAMELEON 1100 is designed to handle the presence of water on inadequately dried car bodies without any loss of safety or efficiency.
13. How to clean the work station after finishing sanding?
The system is extremely versatile. At the end of the extraction arm, there is a dedicated adapter. Just connect the included accessories – suction tips or brushes – to conveniently vacuum the gaps in the body and the entire floor around the work station.
Extremely effective filtration: High-class filtration ensuring 99.995% efficiency for particles up to 0.18 microns.
Longevity: Advanced suction system based on a side channel turbine and brushless motor guarantees continuous operation for up to 20,000 hours.
ATEX compliance: The device meets ATEX standards for zone 22, ensuring complete safety in explosive environments.
Safety must go hand in hand with operator comfort. A key element of the CAMELEON 1100 system is the uniquely designed extraction arm with a reach of 2 meters, capable of rotating 360°. This allows for precise positioning of the arm in any position and effective capture of dust directly at the source of emission.
More than just extraction – a complete workstation: The arm is equipped with a special adapter that allows for quick connection of auxiliary accessories, such as suction nozzles, brushes, and workstation cleaning kits. This enables a swift transition from sanding to vacuuming gaps and floors. The mobile, compact design also facilitates movement between workstations, saving valuable space in the workshop.
Modern body repair processes using materials such as steel, aluminum, and CFRP do not allow for effective separation of dust types during work. Grinding generates an explosive and health-hazardous mixture. Modern automotive bodies are complex hybrid structures that utilize advanced high-strength steel, aluminum alloys, and carbon fiber.
Therefore, only a universal device like the CAMELEON 1100 enables safe and efficient extraction of all types of dust - in one compact and functional system. This device is designed to work with steel, aluminum, and composite bodies regardless of the vehicle manufacturer.
Dry extraction systems struggle with the realities of modern body shops. The Inert EX technology used in the CAMELEON 1100 allows for the suction of potentially explosive dust directly into a neutral liquid, eliminating the risk of explosion caused by friction or electrostatic charge.
This solution outperforms traditional vacuums since the wet neutralization technology effectively prevents ignition of the dust mixture, both from sparks and the presence of water on inadequately dried bodies.
