Batteries and Li-Ion modules: Brand new cells, traction batteries, power tools, batteries for bicycles and electric scooters.
Prototypes and tests: Safe transport of prototype cells and laboratory packages (according to P910).
Damaged and critical batteries: Transport of thermally unstable or accident-damaged batteries for disposal (according to P908).
Recycling and returns: Collection of used batteries and devices with built-in batteries (according to P909).
Automotive pyrotechnics: Safe transport of seatbelt tensioners and airbag modules.
Innovative transport and storage containers SECON KMB and SECON KLT developed by SSI SCHÄFER Plastics are specialized solutions created in response to stringent legal and safety requirements in the field of hazardous goods storage and transport.
With certified flame-retardant inserts, a sturdy polypropylene construction, and full compliance with ADR regulations, the containers guarantee maximum safety against the risk of fire, short-circuiting, or mechanical damage.
The dynamic development of electromobility, power tools, and consumer electronics is associated with the mass use of lithium-ion cells and packs. Improper storage or transport of damaged, prototype, or used batteries carries a high risk of uncontrolled ignition (Thermal Runaway).
SECON containers eliminate this risk by complying with strict international guidelines for the transport of hazardous goods by road, rail, and sea.
UN Certification and ADR compliance: Approval for the transport of hazardous materials in packing groups II and III, including full compliance with ADR packing instructions: P903, P908 (damaged/defective batteries), P909 (batteries for disposal/recycling), and P910 (prototypes).
Flame-retardant protective inserts: The possibility of equipping the interior with certified fire-resistant cushions and thermal energy-absorbing partitions to insulate the batteries.
Resistance and durability (100% recyclable): Made from high-quality polypropylene (PP), fully recyclable; high impact and deformation resistance.
Tamper protection: The design allows for sealing the lid or using digital locks to secure the contents against unauthorized access.
Special versions: Availability of an antistatic (ESD) variant and a wide color palette.
Fire tests: Type certification and Bonfire Test for hazardous goods class 9 available upon request.
