The increase in the number of electric and hybrid vehicles on European roads poses new challenges for service networks, dealerships, underground parking operators, logistics companies, and units of the State and Volunteer Fire Service. In the event of mechanical damage to the traction battery or the occurrence of thermal runaway, immediate access to certified fire insulation materials becomes crucial.

The ability to produce up to 6,000 fire-retardant sheets annually ensures complete logistical safety and continuity of supply for the largest infrastructure, fleet, and rescue projects in Poland and Europe.

100% Made in Germany: from engineering design to finished product

In the market for fire protection of traction batteries, the Fingerhuth brand stands out with complete technological independence. The company does not rely on rebranded products or untested semi-finished goods – the entire manufacturing process is carried out in one facility in Germany:

• Full quality control (in-house): All stages – from material testing, through the preparation of specialized silica fabrics with a vermiculite mineral coating, to precise sewing with stainless steel threads in a glass fiber weave – take place at the facility in the heart of the Rhineland.

• Production flexibility: From individual, dedicated orders for prototyping and OEM research laboratories, to large-scale production of standard S-TYPE sheets for fire departments and workshops.

• Repeatability of technical parameters: The years of experience of the Fingerhuth team in the high-temperature textiles sector translates into one hundred percent repeatability of mechanical strength and thermal resistance of every piece coming off the production line.

Why does the S-TYPE sheet set the market standard?

The S-TYPE technical sheet has been specifically designed to control and limit the effects of fires in electric vehicles. Its parameters significantly exceed the standard solutions available on the market:

• Strict technical certification: Compliance with the standard DIN SPEC 91489:2024, fire reaction class A1/A2 according to DIN EN 13501-1 and testing for lack of electrical conductivity according to DIN 54345-1, (crucial for HV installations). The sheet also has an official recommendation from CNBOP-PIB.

• Extreme thermal resistance: Continuous resistance to temperature loads up to 1200°C and briefly up to 1600°C while maintaining the structural integrity of the fabric.

• Gas control and cooling capability: The microporous architecture of the material allows for safe, continuous venting of pyrolytic gases (eliminating the risk of creating an explosive "gas cushion" under the cover) and enables the application of firefighting water directly through the structure of the sheet to cool the battery.

• Quick deployment system (Z-fold): The ergonomic folding layout allows two people to efficiently cover a vehicle in a matter of seconds – both in an open area and in a tight service hall or on a lift.
